The art is beautifully executed and the content is so expansive and thoughtfully broad. Reading it is an inspiring whirlwind around the world and includes the stories of so many compelling groups of young people who used style to express themselves and fight for their beliefs. A must have for your coffee table--makes an excellent gift too!

When I first opened the book I was astonished and captivated by the colorful and life-like art, but then fascinated by the text as well. This book has more than a story to tell. It's a take on the last 100 years that is compelling and entertaining at the same time. It has a pulse that keeps the reader engaged.

COOL is my favorite book in my house. The illustrations are amazing and have never seen such a comprehensive exploration of the history of style. The storytelling is beautiful and book is so inspiring. This duo is super talented, hope they put more work out!

Loved reading this book about the the intersects where art meets fashion meets music. Fun to see the history and cultural influences. Great music playlists too! A fabulous book to give as a fun and very cool gift!

Having taught research methods for library and information science for some years, and having spent a lot of time supervising and examining masters and PhD students, I was delighted when I found the first edition of Alison Pickard's book. This second edition builds on that and updates it. This text is sensible and practical without overlooking the metatheoretical assumptions underlying research activity. I particularly recommend the first chapter, which deals with major research paradigms in a straightforward, understandable way, laying a good basis for a discussion of the qualitative, quantitative and mixed methods methodologies. The methods discussed will be useful to researchers working in information science as well; as library studies.

I found this book to be highly useful. As someone who is interested in research but who never had a formal research class, a book like this filled in a lot of the gaps for me. Although I read it from cover to cover in order to write a review for Catholic Library World, I know that I will be going back to it for ideas on expanding my research. Research Methods in Information includes practical exercises that will help the researcher learn the concepts that the author presents. Pickard has a clear and effective writing style. This is an excellent introduction to research methods, and could be used as a textbook in a research methodology course.
